Job Overview
The Cloud Technical Leader is responsible for guiding a Team of Cloud Architects and driving the full lifecycle of cloud engagements, from pre‑sales solutioning to architecture design, deployment, and professional services delivery.
This role partners closely with technology partners, systems integrators, and customers to deliver high‑quality cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Oracle OCI.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leading and mentoring a Team of Cloud Architects, setting technical direction and ensuring architectural standards.
- Developing technical capabilities across cloud platforms, advanced architectures, and emerging technologies.
- Overseeing workload distribution, project assignments, and performance management.
- Supporting partner and customer pre‑sales cycles by providing technical expertise during qualification, scoping, and design phases.
- Conducting technical discovery sessions, requirements analysis, and cloud readiness assessments.
- Developing and validating solution proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and high‑level architectures for partner-led opportunities.
- Presenting cloud strategies, architectures, and value propositions to technical and business stakeholders.
- Leading the creation of end‑to‑end cloud architectures, reference blueprints, and solution frameworks.
- Ensuring solutions adhere to best practices in security, compliance, performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Conducting architecture reviews, validating partner and customer designs, and ensuring governance across the delivery lifecycle.
- Providing guidance on modern architectures including cloud-native, hybrid, data/AI, and DevOps environments.
- Overseeing the execution of cloud migration, implementation, and modernization projects.
- Ensuring professional services Teams and partners deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with architectural designs.
- Providing escalation support for complex technical challenges during deployment phases.
- Validating that delivered solutions meet intended functionality, reliability, and business requirements.
- Defining delivery methodologies, best practices, and frameworks for cloud engagements.
- Driving consistency and quality across all customer projects delivered through partners or internal Teams.
- Monitoring project health, mitigating risks, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the delivery cycle.
- Championing continuous improvement across services delivery, including playbooks, accelerators, and reusable assets.
- Serving as a trusted advisor to technology partners, enabling their technical Teams on cloud architectures and delivery best practices.
- Conducting technical workshops, architectural deep dives, and enablement programs for partners.
- Collaborating with partner leadership to accelerate customer cloud adoption and build repeatable cloud offerings.
- Supporting partners in developing their technical competencies, certifications, and solution maturity.
- Staying current with evolving cloud technologies, architectural patterns, and industry trends.
- Introducing innovative approaches to solution design, automation, modernization, and AI-driven cloud capabilities.
- Contributing to internal knowledge repositories, reference architectures, and strategic cloud initiatives.
- Ensuring high-quality documentation for architectures, operational models, designs, and project deliverables.
- Promoting knowledge sharing within the architect community and across partner ecosystems.
- Maintaining documentation for reusable templates, solution blueprints, and delivery methodologies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
- Azure and AWS relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, etc., are required.
- Proven leadership experience managing Cloud Architects or senior technical Teams.
- Strong pre‑sales engagement experience including customer workshops, solution design, and proposal development.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, with strong knowledge of AWS and/or OCI.
- Demonstrated experience delivering end‑to‑end cloud projects spanning architecture, migration, implementation, and optimization.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to guide teams through complex technical decisions.
