LOGICOM ACADEMIC MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM 2020 – 2021

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

GRADUATE/PHD SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Logicom Public Ltd (hereinafter mentioned as "Logicom") announces the Logicom scholarship program for 2020 – 2021.  The aim of the scholarship program is to support high achievers who aspire to be game changers and innovation champions in the field of technology in the following specializations:

  • Cloud Computing
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Big Data & Analytics
  • Cybersecurity
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • ​Machine Learning
  • Blockchain

The Logicom Scholarships are achievement-based scholarships that are awarded to 10 candidates who plan to undertake graduate studies (Master Program) and to 5 candidates who plan to undertake postgraduate studies (PhD Program).  The scholarships can be used at a reputable accredited University in Cyprus or abroad.

 

 A. TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS

       i. Graduate Master’s Level Scholarships

For the academic year 2020-21 Logicom offers 10 scholarships of up to €10,000 each

The scholarships require full-time study, with maximum duration two years

Applicants Requirements:  

  1. Hold an Undergraduate degree from reputable and recognized universities and their degrees to have the following marks:
  • UK Universities:  First Class
  • USA Universities: 3.5/4.0
  • Greek Universities: 8/10
  • Cyprus Universities: 8/10, 3.5/4.0 or A
  • Other Universities : equivalent marks

 

  1. Have a written acceptance at a world-reputable Master's degree program with concentrations on the fields above. The acceptance letter needs to be submitted with the scholarship application. The Master's program should commence within the academic year 2020-21 and should have a maximum duration of two years
  2. Be able to demonstrate high English Language proficiency i.e. IGCSE with a grade of “C” or above or IELTS with a grade of 6.5 or TOEFL with a score of 79-80 internet based
  3. Hold Cyprus citizenship and be lawfully resident in the Republic of Cyprus for the last 2 years
  4. Have date of birth after 1.1.1992
  5. Have completed any compulsory army obligations by the start of the Master's program (for males only)
  6. Apply immediately though www.logicom.net/scholarships by 2nd August 2020 the latest, and include the following documents:
  • University's acceptance letter for the Master’s degree
  • University Degree copy (or confirmation)
  • Detailed academic performance transcript for all years of the undergraduate course
  • Any other University degree copy and related transcript
  • School leaving certificate and detailed grades transcript for last year (if not shown on the certificate)​
  • The scholarship committee reserves the right to request the applicant to submit any additional documentation as it may consider   necessary so as to assess his/her application.
  1. Be available for an interview, if required by Logicom

ii. Postgraduate (PhD) level Scholarships

For the academic year 2020-21 Logicom offers 5 scholarships of up to €15,000 each

The scholarships require full-time study, with maximum duration three to five years

Applicants Requirements:  

  1. Hold a Graduate degree from reputable and recognized universities and their degrees to have the following marks:
  • UK Universities:  Distinction
  • USA Universities: 3.5/4.0
  • Greek Universities: 8/10
  • Cyprus Universities: 8/10, 3.5/4.0, A
  • Other Universities : equivalent marks
  1. Have a written acceptance at a world-reputable PhD’s degree program with concentrations on the fields above. The acceptance letter needs to be submitted with the scholarship application. The PhD program should commence within the academic year 2020-21 and should have a maximum duration of three to five years
  2. Be able to demonstrate high English language proficiency i.e. IGCSE with a grade of “C” or above or IELTS with a grade of 6.5 or TOEFL with a score of 79-80 internet based
  3. Hold Cyprus citizenship and be lawfully resident in the Republic of Cyprus for the last 2 years
  4. Have date of birth after 1.1.1990
  5. Have completed any compulsory army obligations by the start of the PhD’s program (for males only)
  6.     Apply immediately though www.logicom.net/scholarships by 2nd August 2020 the latest, and include the following documents:
  • University's acceptance letter for the PhD degree
  • University Bachelor and Master Degree copy (or confirmation)
  • Detailed academic performance transcript for all years of the Bachelor and Master program
  • Any other University degree copy and related transcript
  • School leaving certificate
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Copies of relevant publications (up to two)
  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty member of higher academic institutions
  • Other supporting documents such as awards, distinctions, etc.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  1. Be available for an interview, if required by Logicom


B. EVALUATION AND SELECTION

  1. Logicom's Scholarship Committee will conduct the evaluation and make the recommendation to the Logicom Board of Directors.
  2. The Logicom Board of Directors will review the recommendations of the Logicom Scholarship Committee and has the right to make final decisions at its absolute discretion
  3. The decisions of Logicom Board of Directors​ will be final and cannot be disputed
  4. The applicants will be informed by email for the final decision of Logic​om by 31st August 2020.

 

C. RESPONSIBILITIES OF SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS

  1. The successful applicant will need to sign a Logicom Scholarship Agreement for the scholarship funding to commence.
  2. In order to receive the scholarship funds, the successful applications must remain in good standing in the program they applied, for the planned duration of their study. The actual payments will be periodic.
  3. Program changes are not allowed.
  4. Upon completion of the program, the successful applicant must inform Logicom Scholarship Committee (scholarships@logicom.net) by sending a confirmation of their Master's/PhD degree, within 1 month of completing the program.​
  5.     The successful applicant undertakes the responsibility to work for Logicom for two years, if Logicom offers an employment contract after the applicant sends a confirmation of their Master's/PhD degree.
  6.     If the successful applicant decides not to work for Logicom for the above period, then the applicant will have to refund the full amount of the scholarship to Logicom within one month of such refusal.

The terms and conditions of the Logicom Graduate Scholarships Program 2020-21 can be amended or revoked at the discretion of Logicom.

Applications from Logicom employees or their first-degree relatives are not accepted under this program
