The 25th Logicom Cyprus Marathon

The 25th Logicom Cyprus Marathon is around the corner. Scheduled for Sunday, March 12th in Paphos, the marathon is anticipated to draw over 3.000 participants.  The landmark event will be dedicated for the eighth consecutive year, to the memory of Stelios Kyriakides.

A Press Conference was held on Thursday, February 23rd, at the Cyprus Olympic Committee premises, where the organizers presented the Marathon program. - The program comprises of four different races - Marathon, Half Marathon, the 10km Run and the 5km Family Fun Run - and highlighted new and exciting activities that will take place for the first time during the event.

This year, the Logicom Cyprus Marathon organizers are planning a “Children Run” on Saturday, March 11th, to support the Cyprus Autistic Association and instill the philosophy of running for a cause.   Additionally, they are introducing the “You Run, We Plant” initiative for the first time, where a tree will be planted by the organizers for every runner who completes the marathon, in one of the villages along the race route.

During the press conference, Ms. Gianna Pitsiakkou, the representative of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, noted that the organizers’ commitment to environmental responsibility and their focus on creating exceptional experiences for participants will contribute greatly to the Logicom Cyprus Marathon’s success.

Anthoulis Papachristoforou, the Group CFO & Deputy Managing Director of Logicom, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming marathon event and commended the organizers for their exceptional work.  He emphasized that Logicom supports the Logicom Cyprus Marathon because they believe in its values, and they have confidence that the organizers are making every effort to promote Cyprus globally.

Mr. Loukas Nikiforou, the representative of the Paphos Tourism Development and Promotion Company, expressed his conviction that Paphos has all the necessary elements to attract athletes and become a preferred destination for sports events and training.  He highlighted the Marathon’s significant contribution to achieving the Company’s objective of solidifying the City’s status, as a prime location for athletes.

In their closing speech, the organizers expressed their gratitude to the sponsors and supporters of the Logicom Cyprus Marathon with Logicom Public Ltd being the primary sponsor of the event for nine consecutive years.
