Job Overview

We are hiring a motivated Cisco Presales Engineer in Riyadh. This role involves working closely with the Sales Team to understand customer needs, designing tailored Cisco-based solutions, delivering technical presentations, and assisting in proposals and POCs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Sales Team in understanding customer technical requirements and business objectives.  
  • Helping design and propose Cisco solutions that address customer needs, including hardware, software, and services.  
  • Delivering clear and compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers.  
  • Troubleshooting basic technical issues during the presales process.
  • Contributing to the development of technical sections of proposals, including Bill of Materials (BOMs) and solution architectures.  
  • Responding to customer technical questions and providing clarifications.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of POCs to showcase the value of Cisco solutions in a customer's environment.  
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and internal Teams (sales, engineering, etc.).  
  • Organizing partner training and enablement sessions for partners.
  • Staying updated on Cisco products, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Understanding and articulating Cisco's differentiators against competitors.
  • Working closely with senior presales engineers and other technical specialists to learn and contribute to complex deals.
  • Supporting the handover of technical details to the post-sales and implementation Teams.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching, wireless, security), and ideally exposure to Cisco technologies in one or more areas, such as:
    • Networking: Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching technologies.
    • Security: Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems.  
    • Collaboration: Understanding of unified communications, video conferencing.  
    • Data Center: Basic awareness of servers, storage, virtualization.
    • Cloud: Introductory knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their networking aspects.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.  
  • Ability to deliver engaging and informative presentations.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to understand customer challenges and propose effective solutions.  
  • A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • A strong focus on understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.  
  • Fluency in English is usually essential; additional languages (like Arabic in Saudi Arabia) can be a significant advantage.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Computer), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
  • Certifications like CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) in Routing and Switching, Security, or Collaboration are highly valued and demonstrate a foundational understanding of Cisco technologies.
  • Prior internship or entry-level experience in IT, networking, or a customer-facing technical role is a plus.
  • A demonstrable interest in technology and an eagerness to learn about Cisco solutions.
