Job Overview
We are hiring for an experienced, highly motivated and efficient Mechanical Engineer to join the Operations and Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will be working with a Team of Technicians.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Being responsible for the maintenance and operation of the mechanical equipment of the two Desalination Plants at Larnaca and Limassol.
- Being responsible for the planning, purchasing and implementing hands on preventive and reactive maintenance activities on all Mechanical Equipment. Equipment includes amongst others: Valves, low/ high rotating speed equipment, Pressure machinery and Pumps/ motors, bearing changes, shaft alignment, FRP – SS - PP pipes repairs, air blowers, filters, tanks, metal structures etc.
- Assisting in the development and execution of health and safety systems/ plans in line with the existing Company’s ISO system.
- Acting as permanent member of the Health and Safety committee for both Plants.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical/ Marine Engineering or a similar field.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience in relevant industry/ large ships.
- Ability to work hands-on from manufacturer’s manuals.
- Leadership skills within and across technical Teams.
- Competency to read and work form Mechanical Drawings and manuals.
- Good trouble shooting skills, knowledge of installing, calibration and testing mechanical equipment.
- Good knowledge of English language is required.
- Experience on medium – large pump maintenance will be considered an advantage.
