Accounting Officer - MN Larnaca Desalination Plant - Larnaca, Cyprus

Job Overview

As an Accounting Officer you will be responsible for a range of financial activities, including financial record-keeping, reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. This role is essential to ensure the accuracy and transparency of our financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate accounting books and records for the company.
• Posting and processing journal entries ensuring that all business transactions are recorded.
• Recording of invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
• Preparing Debtors/Creditors reconciliations and liaising with them for resolving discrepancies.
• Maintaining and analysing the petty cash.
• Communicating with local authorities, banks, debtors, creditors when required.
• Ensuring all filling (hardcopy and electronic) is maintained.
• Undertaking any other related duties as required.
• Assisting in the procurement and administration functions of the company where needed.

Skills & Qualifications

• LCCI Higher Certificate in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting or related field will be considered as an advantage.
• Relevant working experience in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of Accounting Principles and VAT.
• Experience in working with Navision ERP program will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of Greek and English languages (both written and oral).
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel).
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
